In the bottom half of the Page
Monitor bar is located the Access
Panel.
The multi-purpose Access Panel can display a number of different tools and processes.
The tools or processes available for view in the panel depend on the process currently in the work area:

When Stock Investor is first started, the Remote Action view displays by default in the Access Panel.
At all times, in addition to the Remote Action display, both the Quote Page display and the Stock Investor display can be selected to populate the Access Panel.
When a Price Chart is active in the work area, the Access Panel also contains tools that can be applied to the chart.
The Access Panel display can be populated with either Indicators, Hi-Lites or Drawing Tools. Tools that are commonly used can be grouped into a Favorites panel for more convenient retrieval and use.

The Quote Pages panel is a complete list of all saved Quote Pages, including the predefined Quote pages.
To open a Quote Page in the work area, mouse click on its name in the Quote Page Panel list:

The Stock Investor access panel will automatically display whenever any of the three tabbed pages of the Stock Investor Fundamental Analysis work page are opened, or whenever then Stock Investor's Technical Analysis work page is open.
At all other times while the page monitor is open, the Stock Investor access panel can be displayed by selecting Stock Investor from the Access Panel's drop-down menu.
The Stock Investor panel contains the standard links relating to the Three Step Trading Process: Search, Research, Manage
Step 1 Search functionsis to review the results of various Pre-Built Searches, or pre-computed scans as they are also known.
Click the Pre-Built Searches command to open Stock Investor's Pre-computed Scans Page. It provides an easy way to search whole markets for trading opportunities.
Click this command to open the Stock Splits Calendar. First an Enter Symbol dialog opens, enter a stock's symbol and click OK. All past and currently announced splits for that particular stock will be displayed.
Once the calendar is open, users can alternatively select a month to view all stock splits for that time-frame.
Click this command to open Stock Investor's Fundamental analysis work page at the Stock Investor Company Profile tabbed page.
First an Enter Symbol dialog opens, enter a stock's symbol and click OK. The Company Profile tabbed page will open offering a range of fundamental analysis tools and indicators for that stock.
Click the Technical command to open Stock Investor's Technical Analysis work page.
First an Enter Symbol dialog opens, enter a stock's symbol and click OK to open the stock in the Technical Analysis work page. The work page uses the indicators in the Stock Investor default template, to analyze the price patterns and trends for trading opportunities.
Click the Portfolio command to open Stock Investor's Portfolio Manager work page. All trades and stock holdings can be readily tracked and valued using this function.
Click on the Watch Lists command to open the Quote Page work page containing fully customizable Watch Lists for stocks and other securities that are either currently held, or currently being monitored..
Click the Paper Trade command to open a special account in the Portfolio Manager in which paper trades can be recorded and automatically updated and re-calculated. This function allows paper trading exercises to be more realistic and effective.

Drawing Tools, Hi-Lites and Indicators in the Access Panel apply to the price chart currently open in the work area.
Each tool or indicator is represented in the Access Panel by an icon.
Each icon has a tool tip describing it. Hover the mouse over the icon to display the tool tip:

When Drawing Tools, Hi-Lites and Indicators are applied to the price chart in the work area, the icon will be shaded blue to indicate that it is active and currently applied to the price chart.
Indicators and Hi-Lites can be toggled on or off by clicking their icon in the Access Panel.
The Drawing Tool, Hi-Lites and Indicator Access Panels are linked to the floating palettes for tools and indicators. To display the floating palette, right-mouse click anywhere on the access panel and select Detach from the pop-up menu:

The indicators, Hi-Lites or drawing tools floating palette will display. Apply the indicator or tools in the usual manner.

The Favorites access panel is populated by the user from the drawing tools and indicators available in their respective panels.
Favorites is the default Access Panel for price chart work pages:

Also by default, the Favorites Access Panel contains the four indicators used in the Stock Investor Technical Analysis Template (MACD, Exponential Moving Average, Stochastic and Volume) as well as the Trendline drawing tool.
Apply the Favorites in the same way as described previously for Drawing Tools and Indicators.
To add a feature to the Favorites panel, right click the icon and then select Add to Favorites:

The selected item will be added to the Favorites panel.
You can delete items from the Favorites panel, right click the icon and then select Remove from Favorites from the pop-up menu:
